The Importance of Healthy Relationships

My Grandma, Cousin and Sister xoxo
One of the most important pieces of your life circle is your RELATIONSHIPS. This relates to the connection you have with your friends, significant other, or family. Think of each separately and on a scale of 1 to 10 (1 being non-existent, 10 being incredible) how would you rate the health of each relationship? Could you reach out to your friends more? Could you spend more quality time with your partner? Do you make the effort to give your children the attention and time they deserve? Could you make more of an effort to connect with your relatives? If you answered YES to any of the above then make a conscience effort to improve. Make that time and put forth the effort - raise your number!!

People very often take the relationships with their family and friends for granted without realizing how much they gain from having them in their lives. What if you didn't have that amazing friend to turn to when in need? Who would you share memories and experiences with? What would your life be like without family? Lonely? Incomplete? Would you still be the same person?
Remember that the people in your life are blessings and are meant to be appreciated. Close that gap and embrace the love, comfort and value that others bring...and you offer!
I have felt a huge disconnect with my family in Canada since I have been spending my time in Los Angeles and Cabo. It was a part of my life circle that I wanted to improve. My cousin was getting married in Lake Louise, British Columbia and I thought...this is going to be a quick, expensive, long trip but, at the end of the day the most important thing to me right now is re-connecting and letting everyone know that I miss them and that they are important to me! I made the 20 hour trip (layover in Phoenix) from Cabo San Lucas to Calgary and did the 2 hour drive to Lake Louise to witness my cousins wedding.
What an amazing feeling of happiness and fulfillment!!!
I was surrounded by uncles, aunts, cousins, NEW cousins, my mom, sister and most importantly my 94 year old grandmother who looks great!!! I felt myself exploding with love and excitement. I was overwhelmed with old memories and the forgotten realization of how lucky I was to be a part of this warm hearted, close, big family. It was more than perfect! I also spent some time in Calgary and re-united with my 105 year old aunt!!
When I returned to Cabo yesterday I felt different. I felt grounded, more complete, happier and momentarily very at peace with that part of my life. I made a promise to myself to make more of an effort to fly the distance to see them and keep the connection strong...I only have one family and it is meant to be cherished.
Word are important but actions speak louder. Do something today to show those around you that you care.
Health and Happiness,
Christine
